Kuala Lumpur has a tropical rainforest climate with hot, humid, and sunny weather year-round. The city receives heavy rainfall, especially from October to March. Temperatures range from 32 to 35 °C for highs and 23.4 to 24.6 °C for lows. Annually, it gets over 2,600 mm of rain, with June to August being drier but still exceeding 131 mm of rain per month.
The official religion in Malaysia is Islam, but other religions including Buddhism, Hinduism and Christianity are practiced freely.
The national language is Bahasa Melayu (Malay), but English is widely spoken. Most Malaysians are multilingual, speaking various languages and dialects, such as Mandarin, Cantonese and Tamil.
The Malaysian Ringgit is the currency unit of the Malaysian currency with the code MYR.
