Naoharu Mori

Professor Mori currently serves as the Chair and Professor in the Department of Palliative and Supportive Medicine at the Graduate School of Medicine, Aichi Medical University. Transitioning from his former role as a surgeon, he now leads both the Nutrition Support Team and the Palliative Care Team at the Aichi Medical University Hospital. His laboratory is acclaimed for producing over 12 high-quality research papers annually, focusing on sarcopenia, cachexia, and malnutrition.
As the President of the Japanese Society on Sarcopenia, Cachexia, and Wasting Disorders (JSCW) and a Board Member of the Japanese Society for Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism (JSPEN), he plays a pivotal role in advancing the field. At JSPEN, he chairs both the International Committee and the Clinical Research Committee, fostering international collaborations with organizations like PENSA and ESPEN, and spearheading research initiatives.
Professor Mori\'s dedication to research is exemplified by his recent accomplishment of receiving the JSPEN\'s Best Paper of the Year 2023 award. This accolade was bestowed for his groundbreaking paper on GLIM criteria, where he served as the lead author, further cementing his status as a leading figure in his field.
