I am also the department lead for Nutrition Services and Initiatives and at hospital level, I am the Director of Nutrition Support Services and a member of the ERAS Implementation Committee. I am an adjunct lecturer with the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, Singapore. I was a member of the Nutrition Steering Committee at TTSH and a Visiting Consultant with a role in the development of Nutrition Support Services at Seng Kang General Hospital, Singapore (2019-2023). I graduated from the Queen’s University of Belfast (UK) with Honors and completed my postgraduate specialist training with dual accreditations in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine in the West Midlands (UK). I completed a PhD with the Institute of Human Nutrition, University of Southampton (UK). My thesis centered on the changes in health and nitrogen metabolism in patients who had undergone total colectomy with and without additional small bowel resection. During my postgraduate training, I developed interest and expertise in Clinical Nutrition and specifically, in Short Bowel Syndrome and Home Parenteral Nutrition. I am the President of the Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (Singapore). I was the Founding President, of SingSPEN (2015-2017) and had held positions of Scientific Chair, Secretary and President-Elect for SingSPEN (2017-2023). As part of my work within SingSPEN, I formed the Sarcopenia Interest Group and was the course organizer of the ESPEN LLL Course (2014-2019) and became an accredited LLL teacher in 2017. I was also the course director for the Total Nutrition Therapy Course in 2017-2018 and 2024.
