She is clinical specialist physiotherapist with more than 28 years of rehabilitation experience. Katijjahbe completed her PhD at The University of Melbourne. Her key interests focus on improving outcomes for people in critical care and acute setting via early mobilization strategy through the development of novel models of multi-disciplinary pre and rehabilitation in Cardio and Respiratory Rehabilitation (Pioneering state of the art intervention on early mobilization and recovery in cardiac surgery, critical care, covid 19, hyper acute stroke rehabilitation, post-operative surgical and medical in-patient). Katijjahbe has featured in an international collaborative webcast on the European Association for Cardiothoracic Surgery (EACTS), The Cardiothoracic Surgery Network (CTSNet), World Stroke Organisation (WSO)websites; and assisted in updating outcome measures on HeartOnline, a platform for health professionals. Pre habilitation and rehabilitation of Major Surgery patientsKatijjahbe has received a total of RM 250,000 in grants. She is currently the recipient of Malaysia Research University Grant and is conducting a multi centre clinical trial early supervised investigating progressive resistance training following cardiac surgery and Getfit Trial (exercise based pre habilitation and rehab for major surgery)Malaysia
